What Precipitates Sinkhole Events in Florida

perma-liner

As Florida’s population grows it expands into areas which may be potentially more susceptible to sinkhole formation. Therefore, more sinkholes are being witnessed and reported. There are several factors to consider in the formation of a sinkhole. Such as: Hydrologic conditions, including lack of rainfall, lowered water levels, or, conversely, excessive rainfall in a short period of time, can all contribute to sinkhole development.  Sinkholes form naturally under standard geologic and hydro geologic conditions throughout much of Florida. Additional stresses beyond those standard conditions can be catalysts inducing formation of single or multiple sinkholes. Those additional stress conditions are referred to as triggers. Triggers can be climatic or seasonal as natural variations in precipitation from wet to dry periods occur. Triggers fall into two categories, natural and anthropogenic (result from human influence).  Natural trigger events include, but are not limited to:  Heavy rainfall and Drought, followed by heavy rain. Tropical storms (heavy rain, flooding), Animal burrowing and digging.  Sometimes the large numbers of sinkholes will form when one or more triggering events occur.

Jacksonville/Miami/Tampa, Perma-liner Industries has some exciting information that must be shared now as time is of the essence! It’s the Section 179 Deduction. This allows businesses to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment and/or software purchased or financed during the tax year. That means that if you buy (or lease) a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the FULL PURCHASE PRICE from your gross income. It’s an incentive created by the U.S. government to encourage businesses to buy equipment and invest in themselves. Still reading this??
